Travel far – Eat well

We continue our series about food aboard Austrian with one of the highlights of our culinary round trip. Learn all about the in-flight cuisine of our long-haul flights.

Together with our catering partner DO&CO, we offer you top cuisine and outstanding board service on all our long-haul flights.
In Economy Class you will get two meals a day according to the time of day. During day trips we offer lunch, dinner or breakfast. On the route to Japan we serve additional snacks in between to shorten the long flight hours. On night flights we offer light meals and of course all kinds of beverages so that you can sleep and, if you get hungry, have a little bit to eat.

The advantages of Business Class

When you’re travelling Business Class you will come to enjoy the gourmet specialties of our multiple award-winning partner DO&CO.

You will start your relaxed long-haul flight with your own bottle of Vöslauer mineral water. During the flight we offer a choice of outstanding Austrian and international wines, served in exclusive O-Riedel glasses.
The Flying Chef, a specifically trained cook, adds the finishing touches to every menu and makes sure that you will savour top cuisine.

Prepare for arrival

When going to Japan you can get into the culinary mood by having for instance Japanese chicken curry with broccoli, carrots and sushi rice. A piece of dainty sour cherry cake will round off the menu.
Those of you flying to India can get to know the country by choosing a vegetarian Saag-Cashew nut roll with Kaju Bhurta, Pulao rice and lentils for the main course. Those who prefer more homelike treats may stick to fillet of sea bass with vegetables à la Provence.

Hiroshi Saki of the Unkai Restaurant in Vienna designed the Japanese star menu we’re offering in Business Class from Vienna to Tokyo. You could have octopus and salmon roe with seaweed and white sesame for starters. For the main course, the choice is between marinated fillet of beef with roasted onions or Asian cabbage roll filled with shitake mushrooms, white radish and carrots. In between, cheese and fresh fruit will be served from the trolley.

On all long-haul flights we continuously offer drinks, too, so that you won’t find anything wanting on board.
